I have the iconic V12 Lamborghini that everybody could buy. This is the Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, and I’m doing an in-depth review of this car. So let’s show you the car’s exterior, interior, engine, and talk a little bit about the history of Lamborghini. As you guys know, Lamborghini is an Italian manufacturer that has been building sports cars for a long time, a very big competitor for Ferrari and Pagani, I would say. But now, it’s not owned by themselves; it’s owned by the VW Group. Lamborghini and Audi are in the same development, so all Lamborghinis and Audis are made in the same department. It’s organized in the CM department; it’s assembled in the CM department, but technically, every Lamborghini is technically an Audi, except for the V12 Lamborghini.
Now, let’s get to the actual history. The Aventador first started in 2011 and was discontinued in 2022 because the Revuelto came, which is the successor to this car. So this car is no longer on the market, and that’s why the prices are going up, as this is the first generation of the Aventador. After 2013, the 50th Anniversary came in, then the Aventador SV, then the S, and then the Aventador SVJ. The SVJ is the last model; this is the first model. That’s why it has 700 horsepower—it says LP700-4, which means 700 horsepower and four-wheel drive. Just look at this car; it looks so nice, and the Lamborghini V12 doors obviously go up.
Let’s start by showing you guys the front. First, I’m going to show you the front and then turn on the lights later because its V12 screams. You have openings on both sides so air can pass through. You have four parking sensors at the front. The splitter is in satin black at the center, so it’s a very good contrast. You have the Lamborghini badge at the front too. Overall, I have nothing to say; it’s just so good-looking from the front end. Now, I’m going to get inside and turn on the full headlights.
Let’s close the passenger side door. Yeah, Lamborghini Aventador doors have a squishy sound; it’s a little weird, but apparently, this car doesn’t have it, so it’s maintained well. Here, we get inside, and let’s turn the car on. So foot on the brake, pressing the start button, get ready for this V12 to scream, and there the car turns on! First of all, I’m going to get the wheel straight and then turn the lights on. So, this is with the parking light, this is with the headlight, this is with the car’s high beam, this is without the high beam, this is with the hazards, and now I’m going to come outside. I’m going to turn the car off and then put the car on ignition and come outside because this car is way too loud.
With the V12 screaming, you guys can listen to me. As you look at the front, since it’s an Aventador, it has the Y-style daytime running lights with your hazards, and this is your headlight washer that’s contrasting in black. That’s your projector setup, and it has a very nice shade too on the top. As it’s North American spec, obviously, it gets the side reflector. If you look at the hood, it has very good bends and rain-sensing wipers. The front of this car looks amazing, in my opinion. I don’t like Lamborghinis; I like Ferraris because they have a bit more history, and I care about history a lot. But as it’s an Aventador, I have to give it respect for the practicality of the car.
The doors go up. I don’t know how many times I have to open the door because I’m just showing you guys the doors. So, let’s open the front, the trunk is in the front. I’m just going to move the T and put it in the F. When you open the car’s frunk, you have almost 250 liters of storage; that’s a lot for a two-door supercar. That’s way more than its competitors. The Lamborghini Aventador doesn’t have a lot, so let’s close the front hood and just tap it in. That’s pretty much it for the front. Now let me show you the car’s side profile.
Now we are at the side profile of the Aventador. Look at how beautiful it looks from the side! But let’s not get carried away; let’s look at the wheels. The front wheels are 255/30 Z20s, and you have carbon ceramic brakes at the front. The thickness of the front disc is 15.7 inches with adaptive suspension. You have the reflector, obviously; North American cars would have it. If you look at the side profile, the door kind of goes in to make room so it can ventilate the engine, and the radiator can be on the sides. This is in gloss black too for the contrast with the front end. It says LP700-4, letting you know this is the first generation of the Aventador, and it overall looks so good. To be honest, if I look at the front wheels and the rear wheels, it’s an all-wheel-drive car, but it’s rear-biased. The rear wheels are 255/25 ZR21s; the discs are the same size, but the brakes are smaller, and it has a connected suspension instead of individual dampers.
You have the rear reflector light too. Just look at the car from the side; it looks so nice! Now let’s check out the car’s fuel tank. Let me show you the fuel tank of the car. To open the fuel tank, if you just press this button, it opens up. The car obviously needs to be unlocked, and the Aventador has this silver cap on top of it. It says Lamborghini right there, and all Aventadors do. It’s pretty nice; these small details help the car look much nicer and feel more premium.
Let’s go to the rear now because the Aventador is a very good-looking car from the front and from the back. Let’s start from the bottom and then slowly go up. You can see how aggressive the diffuser is. The diffuser and the exterior color are in different colors. This black accent matches the rear and the front splitter of the car. You can see the exhaust is at the center; this car actually has an exhaust system that’s much louder, and it’s valtronic. You have some open vents here so the hot air from the exhaust manifold can escape and help cool the car because the Aventador’s most popular problem is that it gets overheated. It’s such a big car, and this biggest problem comes in the Middle East, not in Canada or America, but it’s there.
You have four parking sensors at the back; you have Lamborghini written on the top, you have your reversing camera there with your number plate slot, and you have the spoiler that goes up and down, where you have your upper stop brake light. You can see the V12 inside because this car has a glass panel, but the convertible version doesn’t have it; it’s closed. But to show you guys the engine, I have to open the engine bay. If we go inside and pull this, it should open up. Then, if I just come here, I can open the engine bay, and you guys can look at that V12.
Now, let’s talk about the engine. The Aventador is a rear mid-engine all-wheel-drive car. Before we do that, let’s just look at this engine up close. This is your V12; it’s at the center. It’s not placed in the right position. It has a very nice panel that holds the engine on top of it. This is the rear suspension spring; this is where you pour your car’s steering oil. This is for the car’s engine oil and the transmission fluid. Just look how nice the car’s engine looks, and you can literally see the inside from here. The door has a naturally aspirated V12 that is producing 691 horsepower, which Lamborghini says is 700, and 509 lb-ft of torque. It has a seven-speed single-clutch automatic transmission, and all of that goes to all four wheels. Pretty cool, pretty nice! Let’s close the engine bay so we can look at the car’s inside.
Let’s just get closer and then press this button, and there it goes. We’re pretty much done with the exterior. Let’s look at the car’s interior. It’s actually a little hard to get inside this car if you were a little wider or taller than me, but as I am the perfect size, I would say it’s not that bad to get inside. Getting inside the Aventador feels like a spaceship. If you look at the dash, the dash is fully in black leather with white stitching. You have your airbag here; it says airbag 2. Overall, the dash isn’t fully leather; you have Lamborghini written right there, that’s fully in metal. You have a lockable glove box with a decent amount of room in there, and you have the AC vent on the other side.
After we come from the dash, we’re going to come to the seats. The seats are very bucket-like; you have Lamborghini embossed on the headrest, which I like. I like the contrast with the cream and black with the white stitching, but they’re very bucket-like and actually comfortable at the same time. You can’t drive this car for more than five hours; it gets tiring after a while, but I think that’s okay. This car is a sports car; it’s meant to drive fast and look good. And that’s why the V12 looks amazing inside.
Let’s go to the steering wheel. You have all your controls at the front here; your speedometer is analog and digital at the same time. Your infotainment system is all touchscreen, which is kind of a bit annoying. You have your driving modes on this car; if you just pull it, it goes to Strada, then Sport, and then Corsa. Those are your three driving modes. You have your back button; you can swipe through your infotainment. It’s like the iPad, and I don’t like how Lamborghini does it.
You can have the right amount of volume for your music; you have your AC here and your climate control down here. You can open the windows and have everything set on the steering wheel, which has your controls for the horn, and a flat bottom. Your paddles are very small, so I’d say the biggest problem with this car is the ergonomics. You can’t reach the buttons while driving; you’ll have to take your eyes off the road.
So, that’s pretty much the interior of the Aventador. If you want to look at the rear, it’s a hatchback design with enough storage to fit your luggage. I mean, you won’t fit it because it’s a two-door supercar, but you have enough to fit your stuff. The interior looks amazing!
